Self-Guided Virtual Brand Training
Learn about the university's communications policies and best practices at your own pace using these online, self-guided courses. To access training and resource modules, enroll in the Rutgers Communications Policies and Guidelines course (use NetID to get started on Canvas).
Guidelines and Best Practices Training
Designed for Rutgers faculty and staff (especially new employees) to learn about guidelines and best practices that will help you with your work at Rutgers, and to help guide marketing and communications initiatives. The program includes prerecorded training videos for on-demand viewing.
The Communicator Certificate Program
If you are interested in receiving the Rutgers Communicator Certificate, you will need to complete all policy modules and related quizzes in the online Rutgers Communication Policy and Guidelines Course, along with three modules of your choice from the Guidelines and Best Practices section of the course to receive the certificate. Once you have completed all the above requirements, please send an email to contactus@ucm.rutgers.edu if you have not received a digital badge.
Department Workshop
UCM will present to your department a free, 90-minute training session tailored for your team. This training will introduce communications-related policies and processes along with useful communications resources. The Rutgers Communicators Network connects communications professionals throughout the university and is open to all Rutgers employees who perform communications functions.
The purpose of the Communicators Network is to:
- Support Rutgers communications professionals
- Coordinate the dissemination of consistent messages to target audiences
- Share ideas, resources, and communication strategies among Rutgers communicators
- Foster collaboration among communicators working with the university’s units, schools, campuses, and central administration offices
- Attend periodic in-person and online events hosted by University Communications and Marketing relating to communications trends and best practices
